NAME
“Something simple but yet memorable and there’s deep meaning or history behind it”
Name is history, one that you bring till the end, the one that people gonna remember about you.
During my time in China, as I mentioned before, I was surrounded by Europeans. Of course the height difference is so obvious. Compared to them, I look like a small kid. One of them give me nickname “140”. Whenever they call me one forty, I always protest. I said that my height is 160cm, one of them didn't believe me.
We debated a little. That time, there’s conversation
Me : I’m not smal !!!! I’m 160
X : You’re small. My GF is 158 and i feel she’s higher than you
Me : NOOOOO! I'm not small
Then the unending debate started again.
One day, I had an idea to prove my height, so I showed them my medical checkup, that showing my height. Although they saw my height that written 160 cm, most of them still not believe me hahahaha.
The next day, I met them in the hallway. I said hi and we talked a lot. Suddenly, One of them said that he have some “gift” to me and asked if it was okay im waiting for the gift. I said yeah, why not. A couple of minutes later, he went out his room with Red CAMPUS Notes book with measuring tape! IT IS A MEASURING TAPE. I was shocked and burst of laugh. I never receive a measuring tape as a gift before. I was wondering, is it a gift that normal for European ? While i was figuring out, I burst of laugh. So yeah, he brought a measuring tape from the campus store to measure me HAHAHHAHA. What an effort. Im touched by his effort to measure me
So he politely asked me to move my position and start measuring. He pressed my head with the book while I requested him: “Please do it correctly, dont make me shorter !!!! I’M NOT THAT TALL !!! DON’T DISCOUNT MY HEIGHT,,,, EVERY CM IS PRECICIOUS FOR ME”
At the end, 140 still sticks with me, I think it’s such a nice name to remember. There’s history behind. That day, the ping pong table, and the wall were silent witnesses to my height.
